Take me to the moon...

Someone joked with me today that my shoes looked like moon boots. I loved them before, but after that I felt even cooler. Im a goober, I know. I told myself that, as cute as wedged sneakers were, I wasn't going to get any. I felt that by the time I got them the trend would be over, but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon and I got these for $11.98. Yes, you read that correctly $11.98. I found these bad boys while browsing through my local Target yesterday. So you should still be able to find them. They had a ton at my Target.

For this one I decided to do my usual and just keep it simple. I had a few errands to run, so this outfit was perfect. These shoes are surprisingly comfortable. They do run a little big though. I went a half size down and still have tons of room.

I also love that I found a place inside that I can take pictures. The perfect background, a white wall. This will come in handy since it is cold outside and I hate going out in the cold to take pictures. Hence why I haven't put up pictures in a while. Thanks for being patient.

For a few days things here are going to be looking a little raggedy, but feel free to browse around at some of my old posts while I am making everything pretty for you to look at. Thanks for your patience guys!

If you have been reading my blog for a while you would probably realize that Im a really simple kind of girl. Im a huge fan of staple pieces and remixing them different ways. This outfit is no different. I used a bunch of things that I think should be a staple in every wardrobe and I made a pretty awesome outfit out of them.

Every woman needs an a wedge boot, black dress, denim jacket, white button down, and a printed scarf. I find that these pieces are essential for layering, especially in climates like the one we have in Georgia. You can dress for the weather earlier in the morning and you can take pieces off as it gets warmer.

I love the way this outfit made me feel. It was mommy appropriate, comfortable, and spunky all at the same time. The weather was lovely this day and I felt good in my outfit, so I had this little pep in my step. You guys know what I'm talking about, don't act like I'm on that island alone! Lol.

I was recently invited by fellow blogger and mommy Mimi, from Lipgloss and Binky to come out and shop. Who can pass up shopping close to home with good company? So of course, I made my way down to my local Tanger Outlet to P.S. from Aeropostale.

PS from Aeropostale

I knew what the store was because my niece loves it, but I wasnt sure what the clothing looked like. I was very surprised that the stuff was really cute and on trend. I found that the items were age appropriate for the size kids they cater to, 4-14. The prices were also amazing. From $0.99 socks to $2.99 uniform tops!

As you guys probably know my little guy is still in toddler sizes, so he was a little small, but fortunately I can fit clothes from the kids department so I scouted some items for myself. Expect a post showing those items soon. I found that I fit into a 12-14 well in their clothing. So if you're about a size 00-2 you can probably fit comfortably into their tops.

I cant wait until my little guy is big enough for stuff like this. The clothing was so cute. Soon enough, I guess.

I would like to thank Mimi and the staff over at P.S. from Aeropostale. They were very helpful and nice.

There is also a special discount code that you can use to get 20% off online until November 11, 2012: PSMOMSGA. This code can be used on already reduced merchandise as well. So get those stocking stuffers out of the way.

I was provided a gift card in exchange for my thoughts. In no way did this affect my opinions. All opinions are my own.

Sickle Cell Awareness Month

September is Sickle Cell Awareness month. As many of you don't know my son has a form of Sickle Cell called Hemoglobin SC Disease. As african american people it is important that we 1) know if you are a carrier of the trait 2) be bone marrow donors 3)be aware of what sickle cell is and how it affects our community 4)Get involved by donating to research, spreading the word, or simply staying informed. Trait testing is free at your local Sickle Cell Foundation. Donating bone marrow is also not like it was in the past and can be harvested the same way you give double reds. So it's virtually pain free.
